About Kim
Kimberly Bither, M.S., began her career as a personal fitness trainer and group exercise instructor at a women's fitness club in Springfield, Massachusetts over 10 years ago. With a passion for inspiring women to love and accept themselves through the philosophy of *healthy bodies over skinny bodies*, and motivating them to eat well and stay active, Kim began designing, implementing and teaching wellness-based weight management programs, in addition to individual and group nutrition and exercise counseling. Aside from her work as a Nutritionist & Fitness Specialist, Kim is an avid writer (blogging for over 5 years, now) and has taught as an adjunct professor at Holyoke Community College and Westfield State University, as well as a graduate teaching fellow at Springfield College. She has taught Nutrition, Physical Conditioning, Aerobic Activities, Aerobic Dance, Kinesiology, and Wellness courses.
Kim is currently at UMass-Amherst working towards becoming a Registered Dietitian (R.D.), the highest credential in the field of nutrition. Before pursuing her R.D. credential, Kim spent time working on post-graduate studies in Exercise Physiology at Springfield College. She earned a Master of Science degree in Human Nutrition at the University of Bridgeport and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Accounting from Western New England College. She holds eight national certifications in personal fitness training, group exercise instruction, and weight management counseling. She is certified through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), the American Council on Exercise (ACE), the American Aerobic Association of America-International Sports Medicine Association (AAAI-ISMA), the National Endurance Sports Trainers Association (NESTA) and Zumba Fitness.
